The first graders at Rice Creek are finishing up their watercolor resist landscapes. To start our lesson, we looked at artwork by artists Heather Galler and Jane Newland to find out how they use pattern. We identified patterns that can be made out of color, line, and shape and then created our own patterns in our landscapes. We outlined our drawings using crayons which we discovered resists the watercolor paint!
