The Kindergarteners at Rice Creek learned about robots and shapes as they created their collages. We began by watching a video of a robot singing about what shapes make up his body parts. Afterward, we identified the shapes in the robots by artists Eric Joyner and Nam June Paik. Finally, we created our own robots and learned to cut squares, rectangles, triangles, semicircles, and more. We made sure to add details to our robots; students chose to add items like hats, hair, eyebrows, bow ties, and more!
